PREEM AB (publ) is Sweden’s biggest oil company and accounts for about 80 percent of Swedish refinery capacity and about 30 percent of Nordic capacity. A total of more than 18 million m3 can be refined at the two wholly-owned refineries Preemraff Göteborg and Preemraff Lysekil. Both refineries are among the most modern, environmentally-friendly and energy-efficient in Europe.

In 1996 Preem established a new chain of gas stations with about 530 (currently about 470) gas stations. The chain was formed by the merger of all Texaco stations in Sweden and OK Petroleum stations in southern and western Sweden.

Preem generated revenue of SEK 87 billion in 2010, and the Group employs around 3,400 people. Of these, around 1,300 are the company’s own employees, 900 of which work at the refineries in Göteborg and Lysekil.

From crude oil to customer

Preem conducts extensive refining of crude oil and sales of petroleum products to oil companies active in Sweden and in the international market, primarily in northwestern Europe. More than 67 percent of production is exported, which makes Preem one of the biggest Swedish exporters.

Sales of gasoline, diesel, heating oils and lubricating oils in the Swedish market to private customers, large and small companies are conducted via our own marketing channels, wholly-owned subsidiaries, Preem Partners and gas stations.
