EV Charging Guide

At Preem's fuel stations you'll find chargers from multiple operators. This guide applies only to chargers operated by Preem — the green or yellow chargers marked with Preem's bear logo Some third-party chargers located at Preem stations are part of Preem's charging network. These can be activated using the Preem mobile app or a Preem business card. If you experience issues with a charger operated by another provider, please contact that operator directly for assistance.

Starting a charging session

1.     Find an available charger and park your vehicle. The charger displays a green light when available.

2.     Activate the charger by completing payment using one of the three methods below.

3.     Connect the charging cable to your vehicle.

4.     Once payment has been processed and the vehicle connected, it normally takes up to one minute for charging to begin.

5.     If charging still won't start, refer to the troubleshooting section further down this page.

There are three payment options available.

The price you pay depends on your payment method.

Ending a charging session

Charging is stopped in different ways depending on how the session was started. After a stop command is sent, it may take up to 20 seconds before the vehicle releases the charging connector.

Stop via the vehicle

Some vehicles have a button near the charge port, or a digital or physical button inside the cabin. Some vehicles also support ending the session through the car's own mobile app.

Stop via the charger

Charging can be ended directly on the charger's screen. Select the outlet and tap "End charging". If the session was started via the payment terminal, you may need to tap the same card on the terminal again and select to end the session. If started with a business card, tap the card against the RFID reader again and select to end the session.

Stop via the Preem mobile app

If the session was started via the Preem mobile app, it can also be ended there.

Receipts

Receipts are retrieved in different ways depending on your payment method.

Member offers

To take advantage of Preem's member offers, start your charging session via the Preem mobile app. Offers and discounts apply only when charging is initiated through the app.
